Over the past few years I have been trying to spend at least a little time every day doing some sketching. Sometimes they can be rather refined sketches and sometimes very rough. For some reason I feel that I want to work at getting better at this craft.
I probably spend 20 to 60 minutes a day at this, most of these sketch pages have a few hours into them so each takes several days. But it has always amazed me to see what can be done in just 20 minutes a day. Even just 5 or 10 minutes will do it.
I wish I had taken the time starting when I was young to make a things like this a habit. I had a lot of lazy years in my life. I turned 60 last year and I should be a lot better at this. But there is that old saying, “the best time to plant a tree in 20 years ago, the next best time is…”
Anyway, in the interest of keeping a record and perhaps inspiring others, I have uploaded most of my sketches from 2021 on to the sketchbook page of my website here. I am starting to see some progress from the oldest sketches to the new.
