Decided to do a still life. My "portrait" sketches have been from random photos that I have taken or found on the internet. This one is just an old baseball that I set in front of me. Trying to get the feel for the shape as well as working with the colors. A baseball is always an interesting subject, it is just a round ball but there is a lot going on with the stitching and just just the fact that this thing has been beat up a little bit in a past life. This is roughly 3x3 inches and took about an hour to complete.
