finishing detail work…

Finally getting to some of the finishing details on this project we have been working on for the past … well it’s a lot closer to being a year than I was planning. The above picture is from the living room
looking in to the kitchen area and the glass doors out to the lake side deck.

Looking through the kitchen area to the living room.  Waiting for some granite counter-tops and appliances to finish off the cabinet area. A coat of sealer on the stone pizza oven on the left really deepens the color of the rock.

A few shots of the master bedroom area on the 2nd floor… amazing detail work with the Doug Fir trim, the rustic painted wood ceiling and the oak flooring.

Quite a view out over the lake from here…

One wall of the master bedroom was done with reclaimed barn wood. A nice touch.

The master bath is coming along…

…and as much as I would like to, I can hardly take credit for any of this work even though my name is on it all. The credit all goes to the three great guys that I am lucky to have working for me, Scott Quick, Chris Olson and Greg Dammann. Tile work was done by Ken Kochendorfer, plumbing by Ron Dubbin and electrical by Cunningham Electric.

Consistently in the 50s now overnight. I saw a hummingbird at the feeder briefly yesterday but I think they are mostly gone now. The days are getting noticeably shorter. I know it happens every year but it still seems uniquely significant… In Northern Minnesota, winter is always either here or just around the corner. Summer is a brief event.
